Accompanying
Inquiry, Practice & Integration

In this work, "accompanying" refers to the process of offering skillful, creative, and therapeutic heart-led mentorship & companionship as we navigate the complexities of dissonant experiences that feel disharmonious in our lives.
The accompaniment is a synergistic, relational, and intuitive process—a dance that seeks to demystify and melodify the psychosomatic nature of dissonance.
Through nuanced practice, we gradually expand our capacity to integrate challenging psychosomatic experiences into our embodied coherence. In essence, the guiding motif of this work is to enhance our ability to regulate our nervous systems healthily in the face of difficult experiences and situations.
Healthier regulation allows us to connect with others more joyfully, foster trust, achieve restful sleep, cultivate feelings of love and belonging, and ultimately experience joy.
In this accompaniment, we gently engage in a process of inquiry, practice, & integration to support and grow our nervous system capacity.

In the inquiry process we explore and map the dissonant experience(s). Initially we express creatively their mythology, identifying their physical and emotional manifestations, and situating their significance within an ecology of environmental triggers, coping mechanisms and relational dynamics.

In this accompaniment we draw from tools from multiple modalities, gradually creating an integral container for titrating further psychosomatic insight.

Inquiry

Practice
The practice process is a laboratory where we test and review in collaboration all the practices that could be supportive. After gathering and refining a repertoire of practices we then gently bridge and titrate the dissonant experience(s) into our somatic awareness.

Through accompaniment, practice and experience, we slowly optimize and fine-tune our nervous system. Time and repeated practice gradually increase our capacity to self-regulate the anxious and fearful response (attached to the dissonant experience) with more ease.

Growing into a more loving nervous system (healthier ventral vagal tone response) requires practice, patience and supportive company.

The Integration is a celebration of our collaboration.

In the integration process, we incorporate both the dissonant experience(s) and the nuanced somatic practice(s) into our internal embodied library and toolbox of resources.

The previous dissonant experience (now a teaching experience) and the practices learned become more easily accessible and second nature. They can be then tailored to support our nervous system response to other challenging situations and dissonant experiences.
